CONFESSION: I Don’t Want to Start Over Again
Share
I’m tired of starting over.
I used to get this weird little rush from deciding I was going to get myself together again.
I’d wake up motivated, make all these plans in my head, and convince myself that from that day on I was going to do everything differently.
Sometimes I did.
For a little while.
Then life would get busy. I’d eat differently than I planned, skip a walk, stay up too late, and somehow end up feeling like I had ruined all my progress.
That’s the part I’m over.
One rough week shouldn’t make me feel like I need to rebuild my whole life from scratch.
Lately, I’ve been craving things I can simply come back to.
Going for a walk because I know I’ll feel better after.
Making something decent to eat without overthinking it.
Drinking more water.
Getting to bed at a reasonable time when I can.
Nothing dramatic.
I used to believe change had to feel exciting to be real.
Now, the kind that lasts seems a lot quieter.
It has to work when I’m exhausted and the week has gone completely sideways.
I don’t want every imperfect stretch to feel like proof that I failed.
Because maybe I never needed another fresh start.
Maybe I just needed to stop walking away from myself every time life got hard.
